I guided and worked for a sports nutritionist to reduce work hours while maximizing income through strategic digital solutions.
summary
Nutreats, founded by Agustina—a talented sports nutritionist from Buenos Aires—was ready to grow, but she faced a big challenge: how to scale her services without taking on more work.
As her digital product designer, I worked closely with Agustina to tackle this head-on. Together, we designed a streamlined platform that made her business run smoother and smarter. The platform offered tailored nutrition guides, automated scheduling, and self-service onboarding tools for new clients.
This solution changed everything. It allowed Agustina to serve more clients without working longer hours, freeing her up to focus on what really matters: delivering high-value consultations and helping people achieve their goals.
THE CHALLENGE
Agustina’s challenge was simple but overwhelming: “How can I work fewer hours but still earn the same—or even more?”
Her income depended almost entirely on one-on-one consultations, which created a time-for-money constraint that left little room for growth. She needed a solution that could do three key things: generate passive income, cut down on administrative tasks, and streamline the onboarding process for new clients.
MY ROLE
As the digital product designer for Nutreats, I worked closely with Agustina to truly understand her business and the challenges she faced.
I made it a point to be more than just a designer—I became a partner, someone who really got the ins and outs of her business, her clients, and the daily dynamics of her work.
I took the time to learn about her day-to-day operations and how the platform could fit into that. We worked together every step of the way, making sure the design reflected her goals and vision for the platform.
The design process
The design process started by really understanding Agustina’s needs and figuring out where she could save time and create new revenue streams. The goal wasn’t to overcomplicate things—it was all about delivering a simple, fast solution that would increase revenue, minimize costs, and get results ASAP.
The research phase was key. I got to know Agustina’s users (patients)—their motivations, skills, and what they wanted from her services. This was crucial for figuring out how to monetize her expertise and align the platform with her users’ needs. I also checked out her local competition to see what they were offering and identify areas where we could stand out.
Once we had a clear understanding of the pain points, we could easily move forward. We quickly sketched ideas and started building the solution.
I jumped straight into Framer to design, skipping Figma, because Agustina needed a landing page quickly, and her budget didn’t allow for developer work. We focused on fixing the gaps in her current process, prioritizing practical solutions rather than getting stuck on design details like colors and shapes.
OUTCOMES AND LESSONS LEArned
The platform now includes a landing page offering nutrition guides for passive income, a calendar to automate appointments and reminders (saving Agustina's valuable time), and a FAQ section to help filter first-time patients or anyone just browsing or looking for more information.
Through our collaboration, we’ve set the stage for some exciting results for Nutreats. We expect the automated scheduling and FAQ section will reduce Agustina’s administrative workload by around 50%, freeing her up to spend more time on consultations and less on repetitive tasks.
The nutrition guides, which include anthropometric tracking, are projected to help clients see up to three times faster changes in body composition. Plus, the passive income from the guides is expected to boost her revenue by 25%, helping her diversify her income streams.
This experience taught me a lot about working with solo entrepreneurs, who often have really packed schedules and not much time to send content or check updates.
There were moments when I had to make decisions on my own and then circle back with Agustina to make sure we were on the same page. She was super flexible and gave me plenty of creative freedom, but it took us a little time to really sync up and build trust. Considering the time constraints and her other responsibilities, this approach worked for both of us and helped us keep things moving forward smoothly.
